Jasmine Ramtoolah
Founder & Managing Director
With a background in Psychology and 11 years of hands on Pharmaceutical recruitment experience, including in Medical Affairs and Sales & Marketing, Jasmine founded Verbatim Pharma in October 2017 with the hope of shifting the mentality in recruitment from a sales environment, to a focus on service delivery.
A writer at heart, Jasmine enjoys reading or listening to books with interesting characters, particularly biographies, and lists her favourite recent reads as Bad Blood, Shantaram and Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. Her favourite pastime is to engage in deep and meaningful discussions with friends over a nice bottle of red wine.
Jasmine grew up in Africa, the US and the UK and was raised by Mauritian parents. This diverse upbringing allowed her to develop an understanding of individual differences, perspectives and cultures from an early age, in combination with the ability to engage on a deeper level with people from all walks of life.
Matthew Mackenzie
Joint Managing Director & Co-Owner
Matt has 17 years recruitment experience spanning across freelance and permanent. He spent the first 9 years of his career recruiting into the healthcare sector, focusing on Operational roles. For the past 8 years, Matt has been specialising in helping Pharmaceutical companies with challenging staffing issues centred around Operations, Project Management, Procurement and Logistics.
A die hard Arsenal fan and season ticket holder (please don’t judge him on this), Matt can be found at The Emirates Stadium weekly during the football season.
With a reputation for being the fun one, Matt’s personality is very light-hearted and positive. He is truly invested in the well-being of the people around him. Don’t be fooled by his laid back nature though; Matt has a degree in Business Management and is very knowledgeable in Finance. He acts as VP’s Finance Director alongside his day job.
Sam Walker
Director of Contract
Sam has worked in recruitment since 2010 and has spent the last 10 years recruiting into the pharmaceutical and biotech industries across Europe and North America. Primarily focused on contract and temporary placements, he has experience supporting and implementing a range of solutions from large scale MSP programs with major pharmaceutical organisations through to tailored project-based offerings for emerging biotech and pharmaceutical services companies.
Notably, Sam brings a unique perspective from both external and internal recruitment spheres. His recent experience involves supporting the growth of a mid-sized CRO in Europe and ensuring the successful delivery of FSP programs within Quality Assurance and Clinical Operations. Beyond the professional realm, Sam finds joy in activities like walking and exploring new destinations through travel.
Hinna Mohammed
Associate Director of Search
Hinna has 8 years’ Pharmaceutical recruitment experience and has worked in both external (agency) recruitment as well as internal recruitment at a globally leading Pharma company. Her recruitment experience in Pharma includes Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs and Quality Assurance. This diverse background across the drug development and commercialisation process, coupled with the experience of managing recruitment from the lens of the client, has definitely proved to be a benefit. Hinna also has a background in Psychology, which supports her ability to understand her clients and candidates.
Hinna is a gifted cook and is known for hosting big family gatherings over at her house. Her passion for cooking ensures she always presents a big feast, guaranteeing her guests will never leave unsatisfied!
Coffee and cake are her weaknesses so you’ll often find her on the weekend getting inspiration from fancy coffee shops in London and “over indulging”, as she likes to say.
Chloe Taylor
Senior Recruitment Partner
Prior to joining Verbatim Pharma, Chloe was new to the world of recruitment and came from a Marketing and Administrative background. Chloe spent several months travelling the world, from Borneo to New Zealand, while pondering on what she really wanted to do long term. During her travels, she realised she was sure about one thing: she enjoyed helping and engaging with people. This is what led her to joining Verbatim.
An interesting and unique fact about Chloe that so happens to be particularly relevant to the Pharma industry, is that she has been part of a longitudinal study since birth: one of the world’s largest twin cohorts, investigating how genetic and environmental factors shape individual differences in cognitive and learning abilities, behaviour and emotions.
Chloe is a positive, enthusiastic and determined individual who has brought good energy to our office. If you ever find yourself joining one of our VP Thursday HIIT sessions at the gym, you will witness her energy and determination on another level!
Katherine Powell
Client Services Manager
Katherine comes from an Administrative and Customer Service background, so Verbatim Pharma is her first step into the world of Recruitment. One thing that has been constant in all of her roles to date is the enjoyment that she has found in engaging with people and hearing their stories.
Having been a hiring manager in a previous role, she has seen how recruitment can work, and is using her past experiences to ensure that she is always doing the right thing by our clients and candidates.
Katherine is a thorough, detailed focused person who holds herself to very high standards. When you speak to her, you’ll quickly notice Katherine’s calm and collected demeanour, and her articulate conversation skills – both assets to her role here at Verbatim Pharma.
Katherine is a feline lover and has two cats called Belle and George. She enjoys having a crisp glass of rosé wine or a funky cocktail with friends and has been working her way through London’s quirky restaurants to satisfy her foodie impulses.
Roya Robeson
Senior Recruitment Partner
Roya had 6 years in the recruitment industry prior to joining Verbatim Pharma, working agency side across a variety of roles. Her passion has always been providing a great service for her clients and candidates alike. With previous success placing people within Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, Engineering roles and much more.
Beyond her professional achievements, Roya is an avid enthusiast of movies and media, particularly old-school cult classics. During weekends, you'll find her enjoying drinks with friends, cozying up on the sofa for the latest TV series, or following the excitement of F1 races.
A self-proclaimed foodie, Roya loves to explore her passion for cooking, although her real joy lies in savoring delicious meals. She's the go-to person for restaurant recommendations and always on the lookout for culinary delights, both locally and abroad.
Henna Begum

Henna is stepping into the world of Recruitment after 7 years in the clouds! As an Elite Cabin Crew member, Henna provided her flyers with 5* customer service, welcoming premier football teams as well as a few celebrities! Fine tuning her customer service experience in her previous role, Henna is an effective communicator and can easily empathise with candidates from all over the world and from different walks of life.
Henna’s kindness shines through the office. She is an extremely considerate and thoughtful colleague, who will always offer you a coffee or a snack before she grabs one for herself.
Having worked on airplanes for a number of years, it's no surprise that Henna possesses a passion for travel. Exploring local supermarkets is her way of discovering regional delicacies, embracing the essence of every place she visits. Her genuine curiosity and gestures make her a valuable asset to any team.
Fionnuala Boylan

Fionnuala (pronounced - Fin-noolah) has returned to the world of recruitment after spending some time working in Sales & Marketing. Embodying the ethos of Verbatim in its literal sense, Fionnuala is queen of a good word. In other words, (excuse the pun) she is expanding the teams’ vocabulary one word at a time!
Overflowing with character, personality, and charm, Fionnuala naturally lights up any room she enters. Her engaging conversational skills ensure there's never a dull moment when she's present.
Despite her modesty, Fionnuala's life is nothing short of fascinating. She teaches classical singing and her voice is something out of a story book! Beyond music, her passions span the realms of food, theatre, movies, and music, making her a vibrant presence in any setting.
Mona Kurkaa

Prior to joining Verbatim Pharma, Mona was new to the world of recruitment and came from a sales and customer service background. In her most current role, she was involved in training and developing the sales team, which made her realise that engaging with people from different backgrounds was something she was really interested in. Mona is originally from Finland and spent a year in Australia and travelling across Asia prior to moving to UK 10 years ago.
Funny fact, prior to her last job, she was actively trying to get into recruitment and interviewed for a company based in Berkhamsted. Now 7 years later, she is starting her new career in recruitment and lives in Berkhamsted full time, talk about coming full circle!
Mona loves trying new foods, experiencing different cultures and travelling in her free time. On her bucket list is visiting every country in the world before her 70th birthday and she has already visited nearly 30 different countries so far!
Jordan Cannon
Recruitment Partner
Jordan has a versatile professional background in Graphic design. After earning a degree in Interactive Design, he then became a freelance Graphic Designer. His expertise expanded further through a year's experience in Tech recruitment, where he successfully placed roles across the UK, Europe, and the US.
Jordan travelled across South East Asia for 6 months all while teaching English remotely. His travels included stops in Bali, Singapore, Gili T, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Outside of work, Jordan found a hobby for creating illustrations designs for artwork that he picked up from his education and design experience. He is also a devoted lifelong supporter of West Ham United!
Jordan is characterized by his light-hearted nature, empathy, and emotional intelligence. These qualities, coupled with his drive, define his approach to both professional work and personal interactions.
Isabel Harris
Marketing Manager
Isabel is a marketer with a focus on People, Health and Connectivity.
Prior to Verbatim Pharma, Isabel worked as a marketing assistant for a chemistry / technology company which allowed her to develop her ability to connect people with the health care industry. She has also supported mental health organisations with their marketing needs, opening the door for patients to connect thoughtfully with support networks.
Community, in all its forms, is important to Isabel, and she supports her local football club at the weekends by running a community café to bring sports and young people together.
In her spare time, Isabel enjoys skiing. She is also a keen singer, having trained at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, and has performed at such venues as Chill fest (Tring), the 606 club (Chelsea, London) and Drapers' Hall (Coventry, London).

Scarlette is our company pup and mascot.
She has been there since the very beginning, when Verbatim Pharma was a one woman business!
Scarlette is responsible for employee well-being, fun and exercise (long walks). She loves her food, is very much a people’s person and relishes in attention.
